It's all part of growing up, but it means they'll need a bike that's up to the job. That's why we equipped the Kid 200 with a simple 7 gear transmission and rim brakes front and rear, so that those first forays away from smooth Tarmac are both fun and safe. It is, in essence, a real mountain bike in miniature - with details tailored for small hands and lots of enthusiasm. When the climb starts getting too steep, the bailout 34 tooth sprocket can help out. The brake levers are specially designed for small hands, giving smooth control of the V-brakes and pleny of power for safe early trail adventures. We even fitted a power modulator to the front brake, so that over-enthusiastic stopping won't result in an endo. It's the ideal bike for introducing kids to real off-road fun.
