Detailed explanation
The 2021 Synapse 105 in a stunning Black Pearl colourway is a beautiful bike that’s made to go a long distance. It’s built around a SmartForm C2 aluminium frame with Cannondale’s SAVE micro-suspension technology, which gets you a rear triangle that acts as a suspension system. It soaks up vibrations from the road and makes your ride much more comfortable, something you’ll feel on longer rides. There’s also the full carbon fibre BallisTec fork with a 12mm thru-axle to add a bit of responsiveness to the steering.
The choice of components falls to Shimano’s tried-and-tested 105 groupset, with a 2x11 configuration paired with FSA’s Gossamer alloy crankset at the front. This is a versatile choice that’s popular for requiring little to no maintenance, yet it gives you plenty of gears to choose from depending on the terrain you’re riding. The TRP Spyre-C mechanical disc brakes get you great modulation and plenty of stopping power, too.
You will also get a bit of added comfort from the wheels, which are Cannondale’s own RD 2.0 Disc rims, laced with stainless steel spokes to Formula hubs. They’re wrapped in Vittoria’s Zaffiro tyres in a 700x30c dimension for a bit of extra vibration absorption and an overall more comfortable ride.
