Detailed explanation

At the heart of the Stereo Hybrid 160 HPC is a C:62 Monocoque Advanced Twin Mould frame. This is Cube’s flagship carbon fibre frame that’s paired with an aluminium rear triangle. It also has a Fox Float DPX2 Factory shock at the rear to make easy work out of any trail, regardless of how rough it is.

Inside the bottom tube is what will keep you pushing hard on the uphills – Bosch’s fourth-generation CX drive unit, with 85Nm of torque and a PowerTube 625 battery. This is a powerful motor with great battery life, and you will easily conquer just about any hill with it.

The choice of components is great – Shimano’s XT drivetrain makes an appearance in both the shifting and braking department, with a 1x12 shifter and derailleur, and hydraulic brakes with 203mm rotors. You get both accurate, precise shifting, and powerful brakes with plenty of modulation to boot.

If you want a mountain bike that’s easy to ride on steep hills and will allow you to get to the top of the trail without breaking a sweat, and still be able to charge down the hill, the 2021 Stereo Hybrid 160 HPC Actionteam 27.5 625 Kiox is the bike you want.

Remarks

They say the heart of a bicycle is its frame, but for enduro that's only part of the story. For the Stereo Hybrid 160 HPC Actionteam we began with a Fox 38 Float Factory fork - with bigger 38mm stanchions and 170mm travel - and paired it with a Float DPX2 Factory shock at the rear. A matching Fox Transfer Factory dropper post opens up new line choices. Fourth-generation Bosch power makes light work of any climb. Full Shimano XT - including hydraulic disc brakes and the peerless 1x12 transmission - serves up the reliability and precision you'd expect. And we finished it all off with Newmen Evolution wheels wrapped with Schalbe's Magic Mary SuperTrail and Big Betty SuperGravity 2.4in tyres.

Packing enduro-worthy levels of travel and Bosch e-bike capability into a single frame isn't easy. But we did it, with style to spare. The carbon main frame houses our Modular Battery System and Bosch power unit entirely within the down tube. Hidden by a double-layer cover with shock protection, push-button access and a hidden lock, the battery is both secure and easy to get to. We even found room for a bottle cage mount. There's a trunnion shock mount, big bearings, Boost 148 rear end and 1.5in head tube for accurate tracking. And aggressive geometry gives you the advantage you need to show the trails exactly who's boss.
