Combining a lightweight aluminium frame, carbon fork and wide 45mm tyres, the Silex 200 delivers a confident and comfortable ride across a wide variety of surfaces.
At the heart of the Merida Silex 200 2027 is a SILEX Lite II 6066 triple-butted, hydroformed aluminium frame with smooth welds and internal cable routing. Its adventure-focused geometry is designed to provide stable, confidence-inspiring handling when the road gets rough, while the generous tyre clearance allows you to tackle gravel tracks and mixed terrain with ease. The frame accepts tyres up to 700 x 45C, or up to 42C when fitted with mudguards.
The Silex II CF2 carbon fork helps reduce weight while adding comfort and control over uneven surfaces. The fork also provides mounting options for carrying additional equipment, making the Silex 200 a practical choice for longer adventures and bikepacking trips.
For dependable gearing, the Shimano ESSA 1x8-speed drivetrain combines a simple single-chainring setup with an 11-45T cassette and 40T chainring. This provides a wide range of gears for everyday riding, rolling gravel roads and steeper climbs without the complexity of a front derailleur.
The bike is equipped with Shimano ESSA mechanical disc brakes for reliable braking performance, while 700c wheels paired with 45mm Maxxis Rambler EXO tyres provide grip and stability on gravel, dirt tracks and tarmac. The Merida Comp SL II wheels are also tubeless-ready, giving riders the option to upgrade their setup in the future.
